The dark time is here, the spiders are weaving their webs, the ghouls are stirring underground and the most gruesome evening of the year is just around the corner. Have you got your costumes together yet? Ready to learn to fear? We have a few events and activities for you that will make you break out in a cold sweat.
1. enjoy a candlelight concert on Halloween
Candlelight and Halloween: tell us a better combination. On November 1, the Senftöpfchen Theater will be lit up by thousands of candles as Tim Burton’s soundtracks fill the room. Look forward to music from The Night Before Christmas, Family Addams and more. Tickets won’t be available for long.
2. start the screen full of horror at the Halloween Horror Weekend
If you’re a true horror fan, then you won’t want to miss the Halloween Horror Weekend at Rex am Ring. The Ring, The Thing, Night of the Living Dead, The Shining and Zombie – Dawn of the Dead will make sure you disappear into the theater seats full of horror.
3. get locked in an escape room
There is no escape. The door slams shut. You and your closest friends are at your mercy unless you manage to free yourselves. We are of course talking about escape rooms, which are particularly popular at Halloween time. Experience your hour of horror, escape from Professor Rumpeltin or break out of the Body Shop.
4. discover the dark side of the city on a spooky tour
What’s the story behind the wake-up snap? What were the witch trials like in Cologne? Which serial killers were up to mischief on the Rhine? If you want to know more about the past and the darker side of Cologne, then a night-time scary tour is the right thing for you. From the cheapest city tours to tours that will make you dig deeper into your pockets, everything is possible.
5. lose yourself in one of the Lost Places
Why not do it like this? Head to one of the Lost Places to experience true horror. OK, joking aside, of course not all abandoned buildings in Cologne are scary. But there is still the Villa Fühlingen, which you can visit before it gives way to luxury apartments.
6. go to a Halloween party
If there’s one thing Halloween is good for, it’s parties. Choose between the rave in the Sünner Keller, the Trash McFly Halloween party in the Sartory-Sälen, a load of drum’n’bass in Gebäude 9 or go straight for Cologne’s biggest party in the HALLE Tor 2.
