As the war in Ukraine enters its second month, efforts to support Ukrainian civilians affected by the conflict continue. But just this week we saw the most creative campaign yet: the launch of a new charity vodka called Vodka Zelensky, founded by a Ukrainian refugee woman. The real goal behind this spirit is clear: to raise money for non-governmental organizations that deliver food, relief supplies and medicine to Ukraine.
Fashion designer Anastasiia Rosinina, who fled Kiev in March, is the brains behind the drink. As the military advance on the capital continued, she turned her attention to developing a large-scale aid project for Ukraine. Together with Dr. Tobias Reichmuth, an investor and entrepreneur who has already appeared in the Swiss TV production “Die Höhle der Löwen Schweiz“, she developed the idea of a charity vodka, 100% of whose profits will be donated to aid measures by 2026.

The NGOs chosen for the work have been carefully selected to ensure that the money goes where it is needed most. Rosinina has consulted with the former head of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation to ensure that the funds are used responsibly. She adds: “As the aid is urgently needed now, at least 6 euros per bottle sold will be donated immediately to humanitarian aid organizations in Ukraine.” The company was set up in just eight days and has already raised enough money to donate over 30,000 euros to a children’s hospital in Kiev and an organization that supports low-income Ukrainian families.
The bottle design clearly reflects this intention: the label features the colors of the Ukrainian flag and the outline of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has become internationally renowned for his courageous and tireless leadership in times of crisis. The wheat-based vodka comes from distilleries in Germany and Switzerland and is already commercially available in both countries.
Vodka Zelensky ‘s goal is to sell one million bottles by the end of 2022 and raise much-needed funds for aid organizations in Ukraine. You can support the refugees in the Eastern European country by ordering the vodka on the brand’s website. The manufacturers have also launched an international campaign on social media with the hashtag #DrinkForPeace. So once you’ve opened your bottle of Zelensky vodka, you can toast to world peace.
